Description:

This year, as part of the 10th D&G Wild Spring Festival, Barstobrick Visitor Centre are offering a package with RSPB Scotland. Whether you are staying elsewhere in the area or at Barstobrick & Queen's Hill, come to the events to see, hear and learn more about the red kites and other nature in this area.


>> Saturday, 18 May - 5.30 to 7.30am at Barstobrick – meet at visitor centre.

Guided walk - Early Birds at Barstobrick

Listen to early morning birdsong around the visitor centre and trails, with RSPB’s Calum Murray and breakfast included afterwards. BOOKING ESSENTIAL, £5 per person (includes £2 donation to RSPB Scotland).

Pond dip/bug hunt - Safari Under the Surface

Have a look to see what weird, wonderful creatures can be found in and around the ponds. Nets, trays  and bug-boxes will provided. BOOKING ESSENTIAL, £2 per person (donation to RSPB Scotland).

 

>> Sunday, 19 May - 10.30am to 12noon at Barstobrick – meet at visitor centre.

Guided walk - Nature around Neilson's Monument

Come on this guided walk in search of wildlife under your feet or up in the sky. Bring binoculars if you have some. There is a Scavenger Hunt activity (and a wee prize) for any kids taking part. BOOKING ESSENTIAL, £2 per person (adults and children, donation to RSPB Scotland).
