|
The Galloway Kite Trail has been designed in order to provide a series of good opportunities to see red kites in the beautiful countryside of Galloway. In addition, there is a range of other wildlife and historical attractions to see around the trail, together with a selection of food and accommodation providers who offer good service and opportunities to find out more about red kites. In addition to having unique kite interpretation displays, like this one. |

These locations will also have the most up-to-date information on where best to see kites at any particular time of the year. Although kites are resident in the area throughout the year, they can be more difficult to see during the breeding season (April- August), when adult birds are attending to nests and moulting. The Feeding Station at Bellymack Hill Farm, near Laurieston, is probably the most likely place to see the birds, but they are also very regularly seen at the RSPB's Ken-Dee Marshes reserve and around the trail's viewpoints on either side of Loch Ken. |
