Description:

FREE entry to the red kite feeding station at Laurieston. There are few experiences like watching dozens of kites in a food fight! Watch as they zoom down for their share, or turn acrobatics in the sky up above. We’ll be on hand in case you have any questions, and have telescopes and binoculars you can borrow.

The farm owner (Anne Johnstone) has kindly permitted RSPB Scotland to run this event, providing free entry but also allowing the charity to raise funds for the project. There will be a tombola on the day, with prizes for adults and children. There will also be opportunity to learn how to look after nature at home and become a member to support our conservation work.

There is now a new, short nature trail, from the car park to a couple of viewpoints overlooking the farm, lower Balmaghie and Woodhall Loch (to the north). What better way to enjoy red kite habitat? Why not go on a Scavenger Hunt along this trail, for a small prize?
