Description:

BOOKING ESSENTIAL

See red kites as they come in to roost together, in woods around the kite trail. These birds sometimes gather in a flying circus before settling at dusk. Find out how they have made Galloway their home. Approaching dusk is a good time to see or hear other wildlife, such as buzzard or raven going to roost or passing flocks of long tailed tits, calling tawny owls or singing robins. This may involve some walking (200m to 1mile) depending on the location and will involve waiting and standing around, so it is best to wrap up warmly. For extra comfort it may be worth bringing along a hot drink for refreshment.
